The East Central Co-op located in Kelvington,
Saskatchewan provides a variety of services for our local membership and
customers:
 | a food store, complete with Bakery/Deli, Produce
and Meat; |
 | a Service Centre which incorporates bulk fuel; |
 | a CardLock fuel facility; |
 | pump gas; |
 | hardware; |
 | farm animal feed; |
 | auto service bays; and |
 | a Home Centre location with lumber, hardware, paint
and major appliances. |

Association History:
 | The East Central Co-op first began serving the
Kelvington/Lintlaw area in 1936. At this time the Kelvington
Consumer's Co-op was organized as a petroleum co-operative.
Sales for the Co-op in 1937 were $12,529.00.

 | In 1939 the Lintlaw Co-op Association was organized.
This was the general store. In 1941 the Kelvington Co-operative
Association was formed operating also as a general store.

 | In 1944 the Petroleum Co-op and the Co-op store in
Kelvington amalgamated, and in 1956 a new store was built in
Kelvington and a new service station in 1957. In 1962 the
Kelvington and Lintlaw Co-ops amalgamated to form the Kelvington and
District Co-operative Association Ltd.

 | In 1965 a new grocery store was built and in 1966 a
new Service and Farm Supply Centre was opened in Kelvington.

 | In 1972 the members of the Kelvington District Co-op
voted to join Westland Co-op along with a number of other Co-ops in
the area and when that Co-op dissolved in 1977 the facilities in
Kelvington and Lintlaw were reorganized under the name of East Central
Co-op Ltd.

 | Total sales in 2007 were just over 10.5 million
dollars.

 | In 2007 East Central Co-op allocated $479,278 back to
our members, 9% on fuel and 3% on all remaining commodities.

 | In 2007 East Central Co-op paid out to:
 | Over age members - $102,118 |
 | Moved away members - $23,862 |
 | Estates - $5,018 |
 | Equity capped members - $39,476
|

 | It was also announced at the annual meeting that East
Central Co-op will have a general allocation based on last year.
Members not receiving a patronage cheque will receive 25% of their
total equity earned in 2007 in the form of a cheque during our equity
day celebrations in June. One more reason to shop East Central
Co-op! |

| New East Central Co-op Graduation Award
The Board of Directors is offering a $500.00 award to
a Kelvington High School Graduate, who has been employed in a business
prior to graduation. For more information on this award,
inquiries can be directed to Garnet Reid and East Central Co-op or
Mr. Hrytzak and the Kelvington High School. |
